An informed choice starts with the specific item. This guide explains what to ask about materials, makers and care; it does not certify the environmental or social impact of every product.
Materials and finish
Check the listed material, any coating or finish, and the parts included. A recycled-content percentage needs evidence for the particular product or batch; it cannot be inferred from the appearance of the metal or the name of the craft.
If a composition or finish is not specified, ask before ordering rather than treating a general craft description as confirmation.
Makers and origin
Ask who made the item, where it was made and what information supports that attribution. A region associated with Dhokra craft is not automatically the origin of every piece sold here.
Pay, working conditions and community-support claims need their own evidence and a clearly stated scope. They should not be inferred from a handmade label or a photograph.
Packaging and care
Ask about the packaging used for your order and the care instructions appropriate to its material and finish. Confirm those instructions before applying a cleaner or changing the surface of a piece.
